A Stopwatch and an Ordnance Map (Opus 15) is a 1939 composition by Samuel Barber for male chorus, kettledrums and brass. Based on a poem by Stephen Spender, the composition is inspired by the horrors of the Spanish Civil War and received its premiere in 1940 by a chorus from the Curtis Institute.[1] It has been performed by the Virginia Glee Club at various times during its history.
