The 1935 Alumni Advisory Board of the Virginia Glee Club was apparently the first organization of an alumni group specifically for the Glee Club's support. Announced a year before the Glee Club's 50th anniversary concert in 1936 (counting 1886 as the founding season), the purpose of the advisory board was apparently to support the planning for 50th anniversary activities.
