Rogers, 1959 Corks and Curls
Barry Lynn Rogers, (September 23, 1937 in Appalachia, Virginia – May 22, 2019)[1] was the accompanist for the Virginia Glee Club during the 1955-1956 and 1956-1967 seasons. Graduating in 1959, he was also a member of Phi Sigma Kappa, Student Union, the First Year Social Committee, the Y.M.C.A., the Lawn Chowder and Marching Society, WUVA, the National Jazz Fraternity, the UVA Rifle and Pistol Club, the UVA Wesley Foundation, Lambda Pi, Beta Beta Beta, the Intercollegiate Music Council, the Young Republicans, Delta Phi Alpha, and the Anthropology Club.[2] He lived in 21 West Lawn[3] in 1958–1959.
Rogers completed a masters and postgraduate work at East Tennessee University. He became the Program Director and Executive Director at Lake Junaluska Assembly and the Director for the Center of Continuing Education at Appalachian State University. He was also an organist and choir director.[1]
