Charles Willcox (July 21, 1865 in Governor's Island, New York – June 28, 1929)[1] was a member of the West Range Sextette during the 1887–1888 season. He was a medical student during the season, having previously received his bachelor's degree from Yale University.[2] He was also a member of Delta Psi and is credited, along with Richard Reid Rogers, with organizing the first football team at the University of Virginia, on which he was a rusher. He was also treasurer of the Rives Boat Club.[3]

He graduated from the UVA Medical School in 1889 and entered the US Army in 1894 as a captain and assistant surgeon, and was promoted to Major Surgeon in 1902.[4] He served in both the Spanish-American War and in World War I, and was stationed during the latter in Ohio, Alabama, France, and Hawaii. He was promoted to Colonel during World War I.[5] He is interred in Arlington National Cemetery.[6][7]
