Dawson's Row in contemporary UVA Grounds map, highlighting Dawson's Row #1 (Fickenscher House).

Dawson's Row is a set of buildings on the Grounds of the University of Virginia, located behind the McIntire Amphitheatre. The buildings remaining in the area, including the Luther Porter Jackson Black Cultural Center, Luther Porter Jackson House, and W.E.B. DuBois Center, include a parsonage built in 1855, a cottage built in the 1890s, and an outbuilding that is thought to have housed slaves in the 19th century.

The Row historically included six student dormitory buildings that were erected in 1859 on land formerly occupied by Dawson's Farm, and in fact were built with the proceeds from its sale. These dormitories were demolished between 1931 and 1953.[1]

A glee club was founded by student's living in the Dawson's Row dormitories in 1880-1881.
