Francis Bell III (November 6, 1922 in Dublin, Virginia – October 2, 2007)[1] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1946-1947 and 1947-1948 seasons. Graduating in 1949, he was also a member of the Y.M.C.A. and the Riding Club.[2]
During World War II, Bell served in the United States Air Force. He completed his degree at the University in 1948, and embarked on a career in banking, retiring in 1983 as executive vice president of Dominion Bankshares. He also served on the board of visitors of James Madison University, including serving as rector from 1974 to 1980.[1]
