Shirley at the 140th Anniversary Weekend
George Shirley was president of the Virginia Glee Club during the 1996-1997 season, during which Bruce Tammen was hired as conductor. He was also a member in 1993-1994, 1994-1995, and 1995-1996 seasons. Graduating in 1997, he was also a member of Coro Virginia.[1]
Shirley remains active in the Virginia Glee Club Alumni and Friends Association and is a past co-chairman of the capital campaign committee.
