The 2007-2008 season of the Virginia Glee Club was conducted by Frank Albinder. Officers included Matthew Young, president; Robert Winfield, vice-president; Kelin Swayne, publicity director; Garrick Suemith, business manager; and Nathan Swayne, secretary. The season featured an appearance at the International Men's Choruses National Seminar.

In April 2008, the Glee Club received a $15,000 award from the Jefferson Trust toward the project to research and record Songs of Virginia. A dozen Glee Club members, led by Matt Young and directed by Frank Albinder, made a presentation to the trustees that culminated in a performance of "Vir-ir-gin-i-a." When trustee Michael Clarke contacted the Glee Club to confirm the award, he told them "the performance is what sealed the deal" for the trustees.[1]
