Green Peyton Wertenbaker (December 23, 1907 – July 26, 1968) was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1928-1929 season. A third year during the season, he was also a member of Phi Kappa Psi, Zeta Gamma, the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society, the Virginia Players, and the College Topics staff, and was managing editor of the Virginia Spectator and associate manager of the Virginia Reel.
After graduating from the University, Wertenbaker worked for Time Magazine. He later became an author of numerous works of nonfiction about the Southwest under both his name and the pseudonym Green Peyton.
