Guy Charles Moore Godfrey (October 1870 – died September 23, 1905),[1] of Tallula, Illinois, [2] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1889-1890 season. He was a first year medical student during 1889-1890.[3]
After the University, Godfrey entered the Army medical corps and rose to the rank of captain, seeing combat action in Cuba.[4] While in the Corps, he worked with Walter Reed on yellow fever research but was apparently accused by him of incompetence.[5]He committed suicide while stationed at Fort McPherson in Georgia in 1905.[6][7]
