Henry Tobias Egger (March 19, 1915 in Atlanta, Georgia – October 18, 1962)[1] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1934-1935 and 1935-1936 seasons. He was a first year in 1934-1935.[2]
Graduating from the University of Virginia with a BA in 1938, Egger attended the Virginia Theological Seminary, graduating with a BD in 1941. He served as priest or rector in many Episcopal churches in Georgia, New York, and North Carolina, finishing his career at St. Peter's Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.[1] While a minister, he authored a work arguing against theological arguments advanced by supporters of integration, arguing that "Paul's statement, 'ye are all one in Jesus Christ,' does not require 'enforced physical proximity' on earth."[3]
