Hugh E. Russell (April 25, 1920 in Huntington, West Virginia – January 24, 2009)[1][2][3] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1938-1939, 1939-1940, and 1940-1941 seasons. He was a first year during the 1938-1939 season.[4] He lived in 20 East Range[5] in 1942–1943.

Russell entered the Diplomatic Services after serving in Navy ROTC at the University. He served in a number of posts, including American Vice Consul in Plymouth, England; vice consul and chargé d'affairs in Birmingham, England; Attaché at the American Embassy in Paris; and a participant in the United Nations Conference in San Francisco in 1945.[6]
