James H. Paxton, of Buena Vista, Virginia, was the assistant manager of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1895-1896 season. During that year he was in his seventh year of study at the University of Virginia, and having already received his MA was an instructor in Latin and Greek.[1] While at Virginia he was also a member of Kappa Sigma, the Thirteen Club, O.W.L., Eli Banana, and was editor in chief of the University of Virginia Magazine. He lived in 53 West Lawn.[2]
