Whiting, 1957 Corks and Curls
James H. Whiting (June 14, 1929 in Washington, DC – November 12, 2015),[1] of Winchester, Virginia, was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1948-1949 and 1949-1950 seasons. Completing his undergraduate degree in art in 1952 (the first art degree awarded at the University) and a bachelor of commerce in 1957, he was also a member of Chi Psi and Skull and Keys.[2]
He was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict after his 1952 graduation. Upon finishing his commerce degree in 1957, he worked in sales for Burlington Hosiery until 1975 and was a business broker for Anderson and Strudwick, where he retired in 1990 as executive Vice President.[1]
