James Hannan Hennelly (December 17, 1895 in Norfolk, Virginia – August 12, 1965)[1] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1920-1921 season. A second year engineering student at the University of Virginia during the season, he was also a member of Theta Chi and Lambda Pi, a reporter for College Topics, vice president of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society, on the executive committee of the American Legion, in the Y.M.C.A. cabinet, and the fraternity liaison to Corks and Curls.[2]

Prior to enrolling in the University, he served in the military during World War I, earning the Croix de Guerre and the Distinguished Service Cross, and was discharged as a first lieutenant. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.[3]
