
Cocke, in the 1936 Corks and Curls
John Alexander Cocke (July 12, 1915 in Hollins, Virginia – May 30, 2004)[1] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1933-1934 and 1934-1935 seasons. Graduating in 1936, he was also associate editor of Corks and Curls and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi, Lambda Pi, the P.K. Society, the first year and varsity track teams, and the Jefferson Society.[2][3]
Cocke graduated from the University of Virginia Medical School in 1940 and served as a captain in World War II. He then entered practice as a radiologist in Norfolk, and later founded the radiology department at Chesapeake General Hospital.[1]
