John Bispham Stokes, Jr. (April 24, 1913 in Moorestown, New Jersey – September 25, 2004)[1][2] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1934-1935 season. A degree candidate during the season, he was also a member of Phi Sigma Kappa, the first year boxing team, and the first year cabinet.[3]
Stokes commanded a tank battalion in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, earning many commendations including a Bronze Star. He retired from the US Army Reserves in 1959 as a lieutenant colonel.[2]
