John Charles Straton Jr. (April 18, 1932 in Warwick, New York[1] – December 21, 2021)[2] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1950-1951 season. Graduating in 1954, he was also president of Sigma Phi Epsilon, business manager and advertising manager of the Cavalier Daily, advertising manager of the Virginia Spectator, president and treasurer of Pi Delta Epsilon, president of the National Defense Transportation Association, and a member of the Interfraternity Council, the Student Union, Skull and Keys, the Jefferson Sabres, and the Course Evaluation Committee.[3]
Straton served in the United States Army in Korea, rising to the rank of major. He was a stockbroker for sixty years, retiring from Morgan Stanley as senior Vice President of investments in 2017.[2]
