John D. Potts (born January 16, 1855 in Petersburg, Virginia) was business manager of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1895-1896 season. He was not a student of the University of Virginia at that time, so his connection to the Glee Club is obscure.
Potts was employed as a passenger agent on the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway, and was credited by Bernard W. Moore with helping the Club arrange their 1894 tour. It is possible that the Glee Club gave him the title of Manager due to his ongoing support for their touring activities.
