John Edmund Norris Hume (September 3, 1883 in Warwick, Virginia – July 1972)[1][2][3] of Washington D.C., was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1904-1905 season. A fourth year engineering student during the season, he was also a member of Beta Theta Pi, Lambda Pi, P.K. Society, T.I.L.K.A., and manager of the track team.[4] He lived in 49 West Range[5] in 1905–06. He was the brother of Glee Club member Howard Hume, and his father, Frank Hume, was a Civil War veteran, grocer, whiskey producer, and donor to the University of Virginia who is memorialized in the Hume Memorial Wall and Fountain.[6]

In 1917 he was working as a commercial engineer for General Electric Co..
