John W. G. Blackstone (October 8, 1858-September 24, 1911)[1] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1879-1880 season.[2] He graduated from Roanoke College, Virginia in 1876[1] and then spent four years at the University of Virginia studying political economy, physics, and law.[3]
Following graduation, he was elected to the Virginia State Senate in 1884, and held various posts there until his appointment as county judge for Accomac in 1896. He served as judge on the Eighth Judicial Circuit until its reorganization in 1902, then was a judge on the newly organized Eleventh Judicial Circuit until his retirement in 1908.[1]
