Carr, 1940 Corks and Curls

Lloyd G. Carr, (August 20, 1917 in Ithaca, New York – October 4, 1976),[1][2] of Waynesboro, Virginia, was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1938-1939 and 1939-1940 seasons. Graduating in 1940, he was also a member of College Topics, the Virginia Academy of Science, the Mycological Society of America, and the American Society of Plant Taxonomists, and was a contributor to the journals Science, Mycologia, Rhodora, Bartonia, and Claytonia and to the magazine Nature Notes.[3]

Studying at Harvard after completing his work at Virginia, he served in World War II, then attained his Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania, carrying out additional study at the Sorbonne. He taught biology at Rio Grande College (now the University of Rio Grande), and discovered at least one species.[2]
