Louis Burkot was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1971-1972, 1972-1973, 1973-1974, and 1974-1975 seasons, performing as vocal soloist in the Glee Club's appearance in the Harvard Festival of Men's Voices (1977) as part of the Glee Club 1976-1977 season. He was also a member of the Virginia Gentlemen.[1]
After graduating from the University, Burkot received his Masters in Music from Yale University. He was the director of the Dartmouth Glee Club from 1981 to 2018, and is a senior lecturer in the Dartmouth College Department of Music. He is also artistic director of Opera North, a position he has held since 1987.[2]
