Michael Butterman

Michael Butterman is the conductor of the Boulder Philharmonic and the Shreveport Symphony, and was a director of the Virginia Glee Club from 1989 to 1991. He served as joint conductor of the group with Cheryl Brown-West in the first season after its separation from the University, then took over as solo conductor in 1990-1991 during the 120th anniversary year. Butterman was a grad student at the time, and left in 1991 to head to Indiana University in their conducting program. As an undergrad at the University, Butterman was a member of the Glee Club, serving as secretary during the Glee Club 1986-1987 season and vice president during the Glee Club 1987-1988 season.

In addition to his roles with the Boulder Philharmonic and the Shreveport Symphony, Butterman is director of outreach for the Rochester Philharmonic.[1]
