Michael Slon is an assistant professor of music and director of choral programs at the University of Virginia. He was the conductor of the Virginia Glee Club in its 2002-2003 season. He currently conducts the University Singers.

Slon holds degrees from the Indiana University School of Music and from Cornell University. Prior to his work at U.Va., Slon was visiting conducting faculty at the Oberlin Conservatory and the assistant conductor of Cincinnati's May Festival Chorus.[1]

Slon was hired as an assistant professor in the McIntire School of Music in August 2001.[2] He was promoted to associate professor in August 2015.[3] He is the co-recipient of the 2015 Julius Herford Prize for outstanding terminal doctoral research in choral music.[4]
