"Nunc dimittis" (or "Lord, now lettest thou thy servant"), Op. 34, No.1,[1] is a choral composition by Alexander Gretchaninoff, which the Virginia Glee Club performs in an arrangement by Pavel Chesnokov and Charles Roepper. While the work, composed before 1914,[2] is set in Church Slavonic, the Glee Club's arrangement sets the text, from the Song of Simeon, in English.
The work was first performed in the 50th annual Christmas concerts and has been performed several times since. It appears on the recordings 50th Annual Christmas Concert and Brothers, Sing On!.
