Paul Bourjaily, Corks and Curls 1944

Paul Webb Bourjaily, later known as Paul Paine Webb (December 2, 1923 in Newcastle, Virginia – May 29, 2014)[1][2], was manager of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1942-1943 season, and was also a member during the 1940-1941 and 1941-1942 seasons. Graduating with a BA in medicine from the University in 1944, he was also a member of Nu Sigma Nu.[3]

Webb completed his medical degree at the University in 1946. He was the brother of Vance Bourjaily, the writer. He received a masters in physiology from the University of Washington in 1949, and served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1950. He taught physiology at the University of Oklahoma from 1952 to 1954 and worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base from 1954 to 1958. In 1959, he founded his own company, Webb Associates, which performed research studies for the Department of Agriculture, the Air Force and the Office of Naval Research. He invented a lightweight, elastic space suit with research support from NASA, and a wearable calorimeter.[4]
