In the fall of 1935, Rose wrote an article about the Glee Club for the first fall issue of the University of Virginia Magazine. Aimed at recruiting first year students, the article discussed the qualifications required to become a Glee Club member ("must be enrolled at the University, and he must be able to carry a tune") and the repertoire of the Glee Club.
