The 1904 Virginia Glee Club Concert in Richmond was held November 23, 1904. The performance, held in association with the UVA - University of North Carolina football game, was part of the Glee Club 1904-1905 season.

The Richmond News Leader wrote: "The club will appear here next Wednesday for the benefit of the Home for Needy Confederate Women, and it is understood that already the sale of tickets has been Phenomenal. The concert, with the football game and Thanksgiving german will be one of the leading society events of next week."[1]

Of the concert, the Richmond Times-Dispatch wrote:

The University of Virginia Glee and Mandolin Club arrived in Richmond last afternoon and were most cordially received, Mrs. A. J. Montague and the ladies composing the Board of Manager of the Home for Needy Confederate Women, having provided most pleasantly for the entertainment of the club while in the city. The young gentlemen took tea together last afternoon, but were assigned their respective hosts and hostesses afterward…

The Academy was ablaze last evening, to greet the advance guard of to-day's heroes, the foot-ball teams of the two great State Universities of Virginia and North Carolina. The programme was presented to a crowded, enthusiastic and brilliant audience, among which were seen all the pretty girls of the city in their prettiest frocks; the many girls who have come from other cities and Slates to spend the Thanksgiving holiday in Richmond; tho members of the Richmond Alumni Association and their families all conspired to give the clubs a splendid ovation.

The festival spirit in the atmosphere, the hearty spirit of enthusiasm pervading tho entire house, must have served as an inspiration for the Glee and Mandolin Clubs scored a crowning triumph in their performance.[2]
