
Gravatte, 1947 Corks and Curls
Robert Howerton Gravatt, Jr. (November 25, 1922 in Washington, DC – December 14, 1985)[1] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1939-1940, 1941-1942, and 1942-1943 seasons. He was an undergraduate in the department of education during the season, and was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and the treasurer of the Jefferson Society.[2] He completed his law degree in 1947, and also was a member of Sigma Nu Phi.[3]
He served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After graduating from University of Virginia with his undergraduate and law degrees, he did additional legal study at George Washington University. He worked at the Federal Trade Commission as an attorney until his retirement in 1983.[4]
