The Hunting Song is a satirical song composed by Tom Lehrer that appeared on his first album, Songs by Tom Lehrer, in 1953. Virginia Glee Club conductor Donald MacInnis arranged the work for four-part men's chorus in the early 1950s, and it was recorded on the Glee Club 1955-1956 promo acetate.
The work has been infrequently performed in Glee Club concerts since MacInnis's time, most recently in 1995. However, it entered the Virginia Gentlemen repertoire sometime in the 1970s and was still being performed by them, in MacInnis's arrangement, in the 1980s, according to VG and Club member Ellis Butler.
