Victor Sharpe Metcalf (September 26, 1896 in Georgetown, Washington DC – October 3, 1918),[1] of Petersburg, Virginia, was secretary of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1917-1918 season and was also a member in 1916-1917. He was a first year graduate student during the season, and was also a member of Kappa Sigma.[2] He was the son of University of Virginia English professor, John Calvin Metcalf.
Victor Metcalf had previously completed his undergraduate education at Richmond College, and completed his Master of Arts at the University in June 1918. After completing his masters, he enrolled in the United States Naval Reserve, but died of illness while in training in Hampton Roads. He is buried in the University of Virginia Cemetery.[1]
