Perriello, 1962 Corks and Curls
Vito Anthony Perriello, Jr. (1941 – March 1, 2009)[1] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the 1958-1959 and 1959-1960 seasons. Graduating in 1962, he was also a member of Chi Psi, Alpha Chi Sigma, Corks and Curls, the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society, the Raven Society, Skull and Keys, and Student Council, and was Vice President of the Newman Club.[2]
His obituary in the University of Virginia Magazine stated:
- He served in the U.S. Army as chief of pediatrics at Fort MacArthur Hospital in San Pedro, Calif. Dr. Perriello was a founding partner of Pediatric Associates in Charlottesville. He was widely published and gave lectures around the country. Dr. Perriello was awarded the Dr. Frank McCue III Sports Medicine Award and admission into the Virginia High School League Hall of Fame. He volunteered at the Charlottesville Free Clinic and elsewhere.[3]
Perriello's son was Tom Perriello, congressman for Charlottesville from 2008 to 2010 and a diplomat in the Great Lakes Region of Africa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
