Wafna is an unofficial mascot of the Virginia Glee Club. A pink lawn flamingo statue that resides at the Glee Club House and is often found at Glee Club concerts and parties, Wafna gets her name from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, where "wafna, wafna!" is the cry of anger of the drunken, naked victim of the Abbot of Cockaigne.
Wafna first appeared following the Glee Club's 1987 performance of Carmina Burana. The poster for the 1987 Concert on the Lawn features Wafna in her first public appearance, a little over a month after the concert.
