William Thomas Roberts (February 15, 1919 in Nassawadox, Virginia - April 27, 2005)[1][2] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1939-1940 season. He was a student in the education school and was in Naval ROTC.[3]
Roberts served in the United States Navy in World War II, and was the commanding officer of LST-38, reportedly the youngest commanding officer in the LST fleet, and later of the USS Dorchester. He took part in the invasion of the Marshall Islands, New Guinea, Admiralty Islands, and Mariana Islands, the occupation of Japan. He remained employed as a wage and classification specialist and position management consultant for civilian personnel at the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown, Virginia until his retirement in May 1974.[4]
